Personality: Enric is a big, floofy, sweetheart of a cat. He started out as a fairly lazy beast, calm and laidback, but has now settled in fully to a non-street, stress-free life and has discovered the joy of play 🧡 He loves it! He's also a great combination of cuddly and independent: he will happily chill on his own, and he is usually content to be picked up and have a cuddle for a bit. He is a true gentleman and will allow you to give him head kisses, mush your hands in his fluff and scoop him up without getting angry 🥰 He also loves to wend his way around your legs to make very clear that he's happy to be by your side.
You only need eyes to see that he's obviously got a beautiful coat on him, and he enjoys being petted. He really responds to an established and consistent routine. Most evenings, after a play session and poking his head out the terrace door just to make sure the outside world is still there, Enric likes to nap on top of his foster mum on the sofa while she watches TV. Then begins the nightly ritual with him choosing to sleep at the foot of the bed, and then ensuring that his foster mum wakes in the morning with his face next to hers or with him sitting by her head. A few morning cuddles, breakfast and some fresh air on the terrace starts the day.
We've noticed that Enric seems to like to give nibbly little love bites to new people, though he doesn't have very many teeth! There's zero aggression in him, he just seems to want to get the flavour of newbies 😹 And despite the limited teefs, nothing stops him from enjoying a hearty meal (or three!) 🍽😼 He's absolutely thrilled - THRILLED - when you gift him some food. So happy and grateful. He actually started out as a bit of a food thief as often happens when cats join us from the street. That's now gone away, and he's curious about human food but not trying to steal your pizza like before 🤭
Enric is a chatty boy, and enjoys a conversation. He meows, squeaks, chirps and makes those funny little cat “ek ek ek” noises with you, with some random bird that can be seen from the window, with anyone!
Interestingly though, in the beginning he seemed mostly purr-less, though not for lack of happiness - this guy is a champion biscuit-maker 🐾❤ But when you get up nice and close to him, there’s a secret awaiting: Enric has a deep, quiet purr of happiness which vibrates from the inside out, through his whole body🥰
Enric is playing a lot now, since he is in a comfortable and safe environment. No more worrying about basic survival. Time to find the fun in life! He chats at you to insist that he’s keen to play. And he is a very active and funny player, silly and sweet to watch – from hurtling through his cat tunnel to living room parkour trying to catch a string – he has so much energy in these moments! . He mostly prefers that the toys come to him and move around actively but no need to invest in any expensive toys, his favorites are a string on a stick, a crinkly sounding mat, an array of cardboard boxes (in which he both hides and scratches). On occasions when he gets the zoomies, he's hilarious and his foster mum is convinced that he can definitely see ghosts and tries to talk to them 👻😹
A firm favourite of our teammate who fed him for over a year, Enric is much missed on her cat colony rounds, but the joy that he'll soon have a wonderful home of his home and never be cold or hungry again is a shining light in this always difficult work. He can now make his biscuits, roll over to show his belly, and streeeeetch out as long as possible with happiness, inside, with his family, instead of in the dirty roads at dinnertime. His brother has already been in a loving home for some time, and finally it's Enric's time 🧡 Our gentle boy deserves a beautiful, calm future.
Medical note: Enric was quite affected by a common cat virus and had to have a number of teeth removed. He manages fine without them, cats with few teeth live very normal lives! He can eat dry food fine (though like most cats, his personal tastes run to wet 😼). He is a bit chronically congested, which we hope will improve with time, and an eye should be kept on his mouth. He is currently on a low dose of cortisone once per day to try and help him, but this is not a long term thing and he takes it easily with a treat. He lives a normal life, and is active and happy. Ideal home: Enric would be happiest in a calm home environment with a single person or a couple. He'd be great with kids once settled in the home. A balcony or terrace is important for him.

Personalidad: Enric es un gato grande, peludito y cariñoso. Empezó siendo bastante perezoso, tranquilo y relajado, pero ya se ha adaptado totalmente a una vida fuera de la calle y sin estrés y ha descubierto el placer de jugar 🧡 Le encanta! También es una gran combinación de mimoso e independiente: se relajará felizmente por su cuenta, y por lo general está contento de que lo cojan y le den mimos durante un rato. Es un auténtico caballero y te permitirá darle besitos en la cabeza, acariciar su pelaje con las manos y cogerlo en brazos sin enfadarse 🥰 También le encanta enroscarse entre tus piernas para dejar muy claro que está feliz de estar a tu lado.
Basta con mirarlo para darse cuenta de que tiene un pelaje precioso, y le gusta que lo acaricien. Realmente responde bien a una rutina establecida y constante. La mayoría de las noches, después de una sesión de juego y de asomar la cabeza por la puerta de la terraza solo para asegurarse de que el mundo exterior sigue ahí, a Enric le gusta echarse la siesta encima de su mamá de acogida en el sofá mientras ella ve la televisión. Entonces comienza el ritual nocturno: él elige dormir a los pies de la cama y luego se asegura de que su humana se despierte por la mañana con su cara junto a la de ella o sentado junto a su cabeza. Unos cuantos mimos matutinos, el desayuno y un poco de aire fresco en la terraza dan comienzo al día.
Hemos notado que a Enric le gusta dar mordisquitos de amor a la gente nueva, ¡aunque no tiene muchos dientes! No hay agresividad en él, sólo parece querer coger el sabor de los desconocidos 😹 Y a pesar de sus pocos dientes, nada le impide disfrutar de una comida abundante (¡o tres!) 🍽😼 Está absolutamente encantado -ENCANTADÍSIMO - cuando le regalas algo de comida. Tan feliz y agradecido. La verdad es que empezó en acogida siendo un poco ladrón de comida como suele pasar cuando vienen gatos de la calle. Ahora eso ya ha desaparecido, y siente curiosidad por la comida humana pero no intenta robarte la pizza como antes 🤭
Enric es un chico parlanchín y disfruta conversando. Maúlla, chilla, gorjea y hace esos graciosos ruiditos de gato «ek ek ek» contigo, con cualquier pájaro que se vea por la ventana, ¡con cualquiera! Curiosamente, al principio parecía que apenas ronroneaba, aunque no por falta de felicidad: este chico es un campeón de las croquetas 🐾❤ Pero cuando te acercas a él, te espera un secreto: Enric tiene un ronroneo profundo y tranquilo de felicidad que vibra de dentro a fuera, por todo su cuerpo 🥰
Enric juega mucho ahora, ya que se encuentra en un entorno cómodo y seguro. Ya no tiene que preocuparse por la supervivencia básica. Es hora de encontrar la diversión en la vida! Te charla para insistirte que tiene ganas de jugar. Y es un jugador muy activo y divertido, tonto y dulce de ver - desde correr a toda velocidad por su túnel para gatos hasta hacer parkour en el salón intentando atrapar un cordel, tiene mucha energía en estos momentos! En general prefiere que los juguetes vengan a él y se muevan activamente, pero no hace falta que inviertas en juguetes caros, sus favoritos son una caña con cuerda, una alfombra que suena crujiente, y una serie de cajas de cartón (en las que se esconde y araña). En ocasiones, cuando se pone a hacer unas carreteras, es divertidísimo y su mamá de acogida está convencida de que puede ver fantasmas e intenta hablar con ellos 👻😹
Enric, un verdadero favorito de nuestra compañera de equipo que lo alimentó durante más de un año, se echa mucho de menos cuando ella hace sus rondas por las colonias felinas, pero la alegría de que pronto tendrá un hogar propio y no volverá a pasar frío ni hambre es una luz brillante en este trabajo siempre difícil. Ahora puede hacer sus croquetas, mostrar la barriga y estiraaaaaaaaarse lo máximo posible para mostrar lo feliz que está dentro de un hogar, con su familia, en lugar de en las sucias calles a la hora de cenar. Su hermano ya lleva algún tiempo en un hogar lleno de amor, y por fin ha llegado el momento de Enric 🧡 Nuestro tierno chicho se merece un futuro bonito y tranquilo.
Nota médica: Enric fue bastante afectado por un virus común en los gatos y le han tenido que extraer varios dientes. Se ha adaptado bien sin ellos, ¡los gatos con pocos dientes llevan una vida muy normal! Puede comer comida seca/pienso sin problemas (aunque como la mayoría de los gatos, sus gustos personales se inclinan por la húmeda 😼). Tiene una congestión crónica, que esperamos que mejore con el tiempo, y hay que vigilarle la boca. Actualmente toma una dosis baja de cortisona una vez al día para intentar ayudarle, pero no es algo a largo plazo y lo come fácilmente camuflado con una chuche.
