Mosquito and Slim

SLIM AND MOSQUITO

Slim and Mosquito are available for adoption as a pair to EXPERIENCED CAT OWNERS ONLY. These two come from a cat colony in Vinaros where they were born on the street and are only familiar with living outdoors. But they’re incredibly social and because they’re so young, would do well living inside, but need time and patience, and most importantly, the expertise of an experienced cat parent to help them along the way.

Personality: This duo aren’t brothers, although you’d be hard pressed to think otherwise! They spend every waking (and sleeping) second together, play fighting, chasing one another around the colony, and stealing food off one another’s plates. They groom one another and can be found cuddled up at night in each other’s arms. Slim is a bit older than Mosquito, we think by 4 months or so, and therefore enjoys showing Mosquito the ropes. He introduces him to all the fun there is in being a kitten, protects him from any harm, and never tires of play fighting. Mosquito looks up to his older “brother” and meows for his attention when he’s not given it immediately. They’re both incredibly affectionate cats for being born and raised on the street. Both enjoy being pet, although Mosquito a bit more than Slim, and both purr when touched. Mosquito is the more outgoing of the two, but we know that Slim is well on his way to a lap cat in no time.

Can Iive with kids? Yes, both of them would be great with kids! Slim might need a little time adjusting to the fast movements of children, but will get the hang of it eventually. Mosquito will be diving right into your kid’s arms the second they’re introduced. 

Can live with other animals? Slim nor Mosquito have been tested for FIV/FeLV yet, and so we do not recommend them living with other cats until we have a confirmed negative on that. If negative, ABSOLUTELY. They very, very much enjoy the company of other cats. They haven’t been tested with dogs, but due to Slim’s more timid personality, we would not suggest it unless the dog is a very tranquil dog that would enjoy the company of a cat.

Ideal home: Together!!! They are best friends and it would be a real shame to break them up after all they’ve been through together. It would also make the adjustment period a lot easier for them and the adopters. An apartment life would be ok for them, but ideally they would thrive as indoor/outdoor cats. So someone with a peaceful garden where they would be able to safely be outside and get inside without a problem is ideal. As said before, we aren’t sure what they’ll be like once inside a home, but with a little time and patience, we know they’ll warm right up to you and your family.

Slim y Mosquito están disponibles para adopción como pareja ÚNICAMENTE PARA PROPIETARIOS DE GATOS CON EXPERIENCIA. Estos dos vienen de una colonia de gatos en Vinaros donde nacieron en la calle y solo están familiarizados con la vida al aire libre. Pero son increíblemente sociables y, como son tan jóvenes, les iría bien viviendo adentro, pero necesitan tiempo y paciencia, y lo más importante, la experiencia de un padre(s) o madre(s) de gatos con experiencia para ayudarlos en el camino.

Personalidad: ¡Este duo no son hermanos, aunque sería difícil pensar lo contrario! Pasan cada segundo de vigilia (y de dormir) juntos, juegan a pelear, se persiguen unos a otros por la colonia y se roban la comida de los platos de los demás. Se acicalan y se los puede encontrar acurrucados por la noche en los brazos del otro. Slim es un poco mayor que Mosquito, creemos que alrededor de 4 meses, y por lo tanto disfruta mostrándole todo. Le presenta toda la diversión que hay en ser un gatito, lo protege de cualquier daño y nunca se cansa de jugar a pelear. Mosquito mira a su "hermano" mayor y maúlla para llamar su atención cuando no se la presta de inmediato. Ambos son gatos increíblemente cariñosos por haber nacido y criado en la calle. Ambos disfrutan estar acicalado, aunque Mosquito un poco más que Slim, y ambos ronronean cuando los tocan. Mosquito es el más extrovertido de los dos, pero sabemos que Slim está en camino de convertirse en un gato faldero en poco tiempo.

¿Puedo vivir con niños? Sí, ¡ambos serían geniales con los niños! Es posible que Slim necesite un poco de tiempo para adaptarse a los movimientos rápidos de los niños, pero eventualmente lo dominará. Mosquito se lanzará directamente a los brazos de su hijo en el momento en que lo presenten.

¿Puede vivir con otros animales? Slim y Mosquito ya han sido sometidos a pruebas de FIV / FeLV, por lo que no les recomendamos que vivan con otros gatos hasta que tengamos un resultado negativo confirmado. Si es negativo, ABSOLUTAMENTE. Disfrutan mucho de la compañía de otros gatos. No se han probado con perros, pero debido a la personalidad más tímida de Slim, no lo recomendaríamos a menos que el perro sea un perro muy tranquilo que disfrutaría de la compañía de un gato.

Vivienda ideal: Juntos !!! Son mejores amigos y sería una verdadera lástima romperlos después de todo lo que han pasado juntos. También facilitaría mucho el período de ajuste para ellos y los adoptantes. Una vida en un apartamento estaría bien para ellos, pero lo ideal sería que prosperasen como gatos de interior / exterior. Entonces, alguien con un jardín tranquilo donde pueda estar afuera con seguridad y entrar sin problemas es ideal. Como se dijo antes, no estamos seguros de cómo serán una vez dentro de una casa, pero con un poco de tiempo y paciencia, sabemos que se sentirán cálidos contigo y tu familia.
