Personality: Rice is sweet. He is a sweet, sweet boy. A big old baby boy of a kitten. He is SUCH a baby 👶🏻

That could just about be his entire write-up and we leave it there! We should give you a bit more, though. A little extra flavour. This sweet boy with a savory name deserves a complete introduction. He is truly sweet, though. Just a lovely, lovely wee man 🥰 

Rice is sociable, and a certified lover boy. He enjoys when visitors arrive and goes to greet them, and wants to be where you are; he's interested in what's going on around him in his home. He's a dog-cat who follows his humans everywhere. However, he also appreciates his space. He likes to be close, but he doesn't want to be on top of you and constantly cuddled. A needy little white shadow, but from a distance. This will change and we can see just how attached he will get to his future human when he's been with them more than the month that he's been in his foster home. For now, good company and presence vs being smothered is Rice's jam 💯 

He is a kitten who likes to sleep close by his humans on the bed at night and can always be found wherever they are. He enjoys a pre-bed cuddle then heads back to his spot: good company, but not wanting to impose. His foster mum sticks her face into his for some cuddles and he accepts it, then very, very gently puuuuushes her face away with his paw 😹 The boy is a darling but also knows boundaries. 

What else? Well, his foster mum thinks that he has approximately two entire brain cells and one is focused on food and the other on his human(s) 😹 Rice is being fostered with our youngest foster mum (five years old) and he is so incredibly gentle with kids. It's beautiful to see them interact. She is also kindly considerate of his Absolute Terror response to her animal ear headbands. If you always wear cat ears, we're sorry to say that Rice will not be a fit for you 😹 (Unless you're willing to give up your fake cat ears for his cute real ones, in which case, we love it! ) 

Rice is also a chatty cat and loves to have conversations. He sometimes just starts meowing out of nowhere like he has THINGS TO SHARE and if you won't spill the tea, he's onto it 😼 If you would like some banter to liven up your day, he's the one for you. 

Our wee Rice is a darling kitten who has been raised around humans but never with any true love and caring. Always on the perimeter, the little orphan at the window, looking in on what he can never have. We're so pleased to have him with us as we head into winter. We don't think he'd be here to see in the spring otherwise 💔 He is absolutely thriving in his foster home with proper love and attention, and needs a home with a lot of company (animal, and/or human) to be happiest in his life. 

Medical note: Rice has a grade 3/6 heart murmur. He has had an ecocardiogram to evaluate it in greater detail. The summary is that he likely has Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). He does not need medication at this stage. We have been told that his condition should not shorten his lifespan. It is recommended that he be checked every 6 months (as opposed to yearly) to assess this. If you are interested in Rice and have questions, please feel free to message us. We know that it can feel like a big deal to take on a cat with an existing medical condition, but he is worth it. He will more than repay you in adoration and joy 💗 

If adopting as a pair we recommend: Rice is the only kitten available to adopt in his foster home. We would also have other options to recommend as a good pairing amongst our other foster kittens: if you're interested in matches, ask us!

Can Iive with kids? Yes! He absolutely loves kids. 

Can live with other animals? Yes! Untested with dogs but we think he'd be fine. 

Ideal home: With another cat buddy and/or with a family who spend a lot of time at home, be that a single person, couple, or bigger family with kids. 

A balcony or terrace is always a plus!

Eso podría ser toda su descripción y lo dejamos aquí. Pero deberíamos darte un poco más. Un poco más de cómo es este chiquitín. Este chico dulce con un nombre sabroso merece una presentación completa. Es realmente dulce. Un hombrecito encantador 🥰 

Rice es sociable y un amante certificado. Disfruta cuando llegan visitas y va a saludarlas, y quiere estar donde tú estás; le interesa lo que pasa a su alrededor en su casa. Es un gatito-perrito que sigue a sus humanas a todas partes. Sin embargo, también aprecia su espacio. Le gusta estar cerca, pero no quiere estar encima de ti y acariciado constantemente. Es una sombra blanca constante, pero de lejos. Esto cambiará y podremos ver hasta qué punto se encariñará con su futur@ human@ cuando lleve con él más del mes que lleva en su casa de acogida. De momento, buena compañía y presencia frente a ser asfixiado es lo que más le gusta a Rice 💯 

Es un gatito al que le gusta dormir cerca de sus humanos en la cama por la noche y siempre se le puede encontrar allí donde estén. Le gustan los mimos antes de acostarse y luego vuelve a su sitio: buena compañía, pero no quiere molestarte. Su mamá de acogida le acerca la cara para que se la abrace y él la acepta, pero luego la aparta muy, muy suavemente con la pata 😹 El chico es un encanto, pero también conoce los límites. 

¿Y qué más? Bueno, su mami de acogida cree que tiene aproximadamente dos neuronas enteras y que una está centrada en la comida y la otra en su(s) human@(s) 😹 Rice está en acogida con nuestra mami de acogida más jovencita (cinco añitos) y es increíblemente cariñoso con los niños. Es hermoso verlos interactuar. Ella también es amablemente considerada con su reacción de Terror Absoluto a sus diademas de orejas de animales. Si siempre llevas orejas de gato, sentimos decirte que Rice no es para ti 😹 (A menos que estés dispuesta a renunciar a tus orejas de gato falsas por sus bonitas orejas reales, en cuyo caso, ¡nos encanta! ) 

Rice también es un gato parlanchín y le encanta conversar. A veces se pone a maullar de la nada como si tuviera COSAS QUE COMPARTIR y, si no quieres empezar tú, se pone a ello 😼 Si te apetece un poco de cháchara para animarte el día, él es lo que necesitas en tu vida. 

Nuestro peque Rice es un gatito adorable que se ha criado rodeado de humanos, pero nunca con verdadero amor y cariño. Siempre en el perímetro, el pequeño huérfano en la ventana, mirando lo que nunca podrá tener. Estamos encantad@s de tenerlo con nosotr@s ahora que se acerca el invierno. No creemos que estaría aquí para ver en la primavera de lo contrario 💔 Él es absolutamente prosperando en su casa de acogida con el amor y la atención adecuada, y necesita un hogar con mucha compañía (animal, y/o humano) para ser feliz en su vida. 

Nota médica: Rice tiene un soplo cardíaco de grado 3/6. Se le ha realizado un ecocardiograma para evaluarlo con más detalle. El resumen es que probablemente tenga una cardiomiopatía hipertrófica (MCH). No necesita medicación (no descartamos que podría cambiar en el futuro). Nos han dicho no debería acortar su esperanza de vida. Se recomienda que se le haga una revisión cada 6 meses (en vez de anualmente) para evaluarlo. Si estás interesad@ en Rice y tienes alguna pregunta, no dudes en enviarnos un mensaje. Sabemos que puede parecer una gran cosa hacerte cargo de un gatito con una enfermedad, pero merece la pena. Te lo devolverá con creces en adoración y alegría 💗 

Si adoptas en pareja te recomendamos: Rice es el único gatito disponible en adopción en su casa de acogida. También habría la posibilidad de formar pareja con alguno de los gatitos que están en acogida en otro hogar: si estuvieras interesad@, pregúntanos! 

¿Puede vivir con niños? ¡Sí! Rice adora a los niños. 

¿Puede vivir con otros animales? ¡Sí! No se ha probado con perros pero creemos que con la debida presentación no habría ningún problema.  

Hogar ideal: Con otr@ compi gatun@ y/o con una familia que pasa mucho tiempo en casa, ya sea un(a) solter@, pareja, o una familia más grande con niños. 

¡Un balcón o terraza es siempre una ventaja!
